weekend short trip

Last weekend, me and Jason spent our Sunday on the road

we need to deliver our pieces to the Bakersfield show

Both of us haven't take road trip for a while, and it was fun :-)


we even get to eat some ice cream!! this is our first time to go to Foster!!
It was so good for long drive :-)

It cool us down and give us some sugar high! that's what we need for the long drive ;-)


After four and half hours, we finally there!! The gallery is sooooooo cool!!!
and we get to catch up with Yvonne and get to know Vicky

Even though I took some pictures in the gallery, but I want to show it after the opening
with our pieces all set up!!
because we both need to work next day, so we couldn't hang out too long!!
too bad I forgot to take a picture of our dinner, because it is the first time I see Jason eat in chain restaurant --Dannis!!! anyway, I can't wait to see all the pieces set up in this cool gallery!!!

New work for Bakersfield show

These are the new batch of work for Surface Gallery in Bakersfirld


I fired these right before I leave for my Taiwan trip


they came out pretty good, and I can't wait to see them in the gallery!!


tomorrow I am going to do one more glaze fire for this show

snail... you are slow but you are finally here!!

About a month ago, I got a special order from a customer.

She told me that her and her boyfriend's mascot is snail
(there is some inside joke ;-p I won't share, haa...)

so she wants me to make some snail mugs for her. And it turn out really nicely!!

And she came up with the what the snail says, it's super cute!!

but I won't translate for you (ha..ha...)


anyway, I love do special order, because I can know the person who is going to use the work

and knowing they will love the animal drawing because they truly love that animal :-)

studio time :-)

I love working in my studio in the morning time.
The sun lid up my studio, it just fell really welcoming :-)

I know my studio is not very neat...but this is how I work :-p
anyway, this week I have to glaze my work...it's my least favorite part of making work
I guess because I haven't get it figure it out yet

well...I am going to have a kiln load out today, and we will see how it look

I can't wait to see my work in the gallery!! yeah!!

Trip to Bonny Donn

Last weekend we have a long weekend - Labor day

so we decided to go back to Bonny doon

Bonny Doon is where Jason grow up. I always love to visit

It is just a beautiful place :-)

And Jason's dad is a great at working in his garden

Everywhere I see just beautiful color and shape

also a lot of yummy home grown food ;-)

I could just spend whole day in the sun to take photos

and I found something very cool!! This piece of wood looks like a piece of bacon!!

so I call it bacon wood, I loves it!! It is a outer layer of tree, so cool!!

I almost brought it home with me, I was going to give to my friend Ginger

because her boy friend LOVES bacon...

anyway, this short trip is just what I need it

now I have all the new energy to work in my studio ;-)

After a month of summer camp

I finally have time to work in my studio

Last day of summer camp :-)

This month I have been working with couple different Oakland Rec center

Mostly for art summer camp programs

It was really fun to work with many different kids, that teach me to become a better teacher.

The past week I have been teaching in in Monclair rec center


I am the art summer camp teacher, and I teach puppet making!!


It was so much fun to talk to kids, it's amazing they have so much energy
and they have lots of cool imaginations and ability to draw very freely


It was really fun and cool job to do for summer


I'm sure I will miss them because we spent whole weeks together


but I am also looking forward to have more energy to work on my own studio ;-)

anyway..I can't believe August is almost over...

I need to start working more in my studio!

I promise next blog posting I will have some new work :-)
